Tasted at “Fook Lam Moon†in Hong Kong. I have always loved Guigal’s 1991s. This Mouline has a stunning bouquet with melted black fruits, Provencal herbs, a little garrigues and white fennel. It just blossoms in the glass, gaining intensity with every passing moment. The palate is full-bodied with sumptuous tannins: a touch of white pepper on the entry, quite gamey with crushed stone, melted tar on a hot summer’s afternoon and a touch of fennel. Builds to a wonderful crescendo on the finish. Adorable and nowhere near its peak. Tasted November 2011.
Vinous 97
Full medium-deep red. Highly perfumed nose combines raspberry, woodsmoke, bacon fat, game and pepper, with a distinctly liqueur-like quality: classic high-pH Cote-Rotie aromas. Thick, round and lush, with compellingly sweet raspberry, gunflint, game, woodsmoke and mint flavors. An extremely suave wine that’s aging slowly and gracefully. Shows surprising grip for a wine this smooth. A quintessential La Mouline that was approachable virtually from the time it was released.

Storage
The Tilbury warehouse of London City Bond is our chosen warehouse. Our storage charges are £12 per 9 litre case (and £6 for anything 4.5l or under), ex VAT per annum.
Insurance is 0.15% of the value and a minimum of £15 p/a (full replacement cover).
