Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 94
Not quite as limpid as the -92, and definitely showing more signs of maturity on the rim. If I am being critical, the nose shows a touch of over-ripeness that I have not noticed on bottles and it subsequently lacks the same level of delineation and freshness. Aromas of blackberry, sloes, mulberry and a touch of eau-de-vie. The palate is full-bodied with slightly lower acidity than the -92 but it remains an impressive port with pure blackberry, macerated cherry, raspberry, fig and mulberry, with a more lush, spicy finish. I doubt it will have the longevity of the -92 but still a superb port. Tasted November 2007.
