Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 87
Tasted at the chateau in Bordeaux. The 1996 has a rather obdurate bouquet with rustic black fruit tinged with cigar box and gravel scents. It is uncomplicated but nicely defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a rather insubstantial opening, but it builds slightly towards a dark cherry, soy and sous-bois-tinged finish. This is still drinking well, though I would not leave it too much longer. Tasted November 2012.
