Tasting Notes
JancisRobinson.com 17.5
Perfumed, even a little exotic and a hint of sweet brambly smoke like a waft of weed in the air (not uncommon in my part of London). Still has some fresh red fruit on the palate, immensely silky and complex. Some pepper and sweet decay (in an attractive way). Idiosyncratic Bordeaux but delicious. (JH)

This is still showing very well. Copious red-berried fruits on the nose, still with vestiges of vanillary new oak. The palate is succulent and very pure leading towards a more Cabernet Franc inspired finish. Showing more refinement on the finish although it could do with more persistency and structure. Deep, bright ruby. Wild, highly nuanced nose combines black cherry, raspberry, roast coffee, smoked meat, exotic spices and pepper notes. Incredibly sweet and rich in the mouth; creamy, confectionery fruit caresses the palate. Finishes with lush, completely ripe tannins and explosive fruit flavors. One of the superstars of the vintage; a wine that will give pleasure early and age well.
