Vinous 95
Luminous red. Captivating aromas of red cherry, cinnamon, minerals, orange peel, flowers and aromatic herbs. Rich, dense and suave, with enticing inner-mouth perfume and ultra-smooth tannins nicely framing the ripe but precise red fruit and flinty flavors. Finishes very long and suave, boasting a complex, multilayered personalita. A knockout wine that looks, smells and tastes still unbelievably young. This is one of the greatest wines from southern Italy I have tasted in some time, but I have found over the years there is considerable bottle variation with this specific vintage of Rosso del Conte and not all bottles I have tried in the past were quite as exceptional as this one.
