Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 93
This has a relatively simple nose of liquorices, sous-bois, smoke and a touch of marjoram. It does not quite have the purity I was expecting. The palate has a ripe, harmonious, seamless entry, a lovely mid-palate of fruitcake, raisin, spice, ginger, and red-berried fruits. Not the structure that is so important here, but the natural sense of cohesion and the graceful finish. Glorious. Drink 2012-2030. Tasted May 2009.
Anticipated maturity: 2012-2030

Good full ruby. Expressive aromas of black fruits, violet and nuts. Sweet, fat and dense, with rich, slightly medicinal dark berry and shoe polish flavors. Builds nicely toward the back, finishing with smooth but firm tannins, a note of dark chocolate and a touch of youthful austerity.
