Tasting Notes
Vinous 93
Deep red-ruby color. Pungent aromas of meat, dust, cedar, clove and cinnamon over a deep core of cherry and red berries, with suggestions of mint and eucalyptus. Sumptuous and smooth, with layers of deep, juicy berry fruits embedded into a fine-grained backbone of powder-dry tannins and tightly integrated oak. Meaty and savory, finishing slightly warm but not excessively ripe.

The minty, chocolatey, currant-styled 2001 Shiraz Georgia’s Paddock may be too herbal for some, but I enjoyed its medium-bodied, dense, ripe, nicely-textured personality. With pure fruit and rustic tannin in the finish, it can be drunk now and over the next 7-8 years. Importer: Rob McDonald, Old Bridge Cellars, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 258-9552
