Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 93
The medium to full-bodied 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Herb Lamb Vineyard displays notes of lavender, forest floor, red and black currants. Fleshy and round with good purity and a 30- to 35-second finish, this open-knit, complex, fully mature red can be drunk over the next 7-8 years. When Colgin’s 2003s were made, winemaker Mark Aubert was working with Bordeaux consultant Dr. Alain Raynaud. Both remember 2003 as a year of small yields with a wet spring, a moderate summer, and huge heat spikes during the third week of September. Tel. (707) 963-0999
Anticipated maturity: 2013-2021
Vinous 91
Deep ruby-red. Deep aromas of black raspberry and mocha, with a suggestion of maple syrup. Densely packed and sweet, with enticing flavors of raspberry, black cherry and minerals. Finishes with substantial ripe tannins.
