Tasting Notes

Densely crimson – very impressive colour. Sumptuous nose. Lovely richness with that slight coolness of 2005. Very fresh and full of energy. Throbs with ripe red fruits. Dry, neat finish. No slacker the way so many Cortons can be.
Anticipated maturity: 2014-2024

When tasted out of barrel last year, I thought this marked a significant improvement in the habitually rustic, rather coarse Corton Rouge from Bonneau du Martray. I have no reason to change that view: an irresistible nose of raspberry, red cherry, tea leaf and wild hedgerow with superb delineation. The palate if medium-bodied, very pure and supple with a sensuous mouthfeel. Raspberry, cherry and a touch of white pepper towards the long finish. Excellent. Tasted February 2008.
