Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 96
A magnificent wine in barrel, this has a broody, introverted nose that is giving very little away at the moment. But the palate displays that effortless sense of balance and natural harmony with filigree tannins and a complex finish with black cherries, loganberry, orange zest and a hint of that mango sorbet I noticed in barrel. Great length and persistency – a wine to treasure. Drink 2012-2030. Tasted February 2008.

Deep red. Explosive spice on the nose, along with dark berries and peony. The palate offers brilliant definition and sap, but this baby is currently dominated by its great structure and firm tannic grip. The wine’s finishing lift is extraordinary. A great wine in the making but in need of at least ten years of patience. "The spirit of the wine is Chambolle-Musigny," says Roumier, "but its bones and flesh are Morey-Saint-Denis. It’s like an athlete with brains."

Strong and sturdy with animal hints. Broad and in this case quite fruity too. Big boned rugby player of wine with quite a bit of alcohol. Notably solid.
Anticipated maturity: 2013-2030
