Tasting Notes
Vinous 95
(100% shiraz) Deep, bright ruby. Assertively perfumed bouquet offers a kaleidoscopic array of dark berry preserve, Asian spice, tobacco and incense aromas, with sexy vanilla and smoked meat notes adding complexity. Smooth in texture and deeply concentrated, with palate-staining blackcurrant and cherry compote flavors underscored by zesty mineral and spice notes. Supple tannins add support to the lush but strikingly lithe fruit and linger on the extremely long, juicy finish. This superbly balanced wine deserves another decade of bottle aging, at a minimum.

Deep garnet with a hint of purple, the 2005 Hill of Grace offers a wonderful perfume of kirsch, red currant preserves and raspberry coulis with hints of cinnamon stick, cloves and orange peel. Medium to full-bodied, it is very elegant yet intense in the mouth with a lively acid line, medium-firm, very finely grained tannins, and a very long finish. Approachable now and should drink to 2040+. Importer: Negociants USA, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 259-0993

Mid to dark ruby. Sweet and leathery on the nose. Such a gentle balm! Sweet and ripe and completely resolved. No heat. No oak. Just the purest fruit. Delightfully dissoved sandy tannins on the end. Great life and vigour. If I had a sore throat, this is what I’d like to cure it.
