Tasting Notes
Vinous 91-94
Brisk aromas of citrus skin, flowers, minerals and mint, along with a deeper hint of honey. Wonderfully fresh in the mouth yet sweet, with highly concentrated flavors of grapefruit, lemon, mint and fresh herbs. There’s a coolness to this wine but at the same time more creaminess and body than the comparatively crisp 2004. The second consecutive outstanding vintage for this 100%-sauvignon blanc cuvee (A retaste of the 2004 turned up exhilarating aromas of white peach and grapefruit, wonderful ripeness in a classically dry package, and outstanding persistence. I rated the wine 94 points.)
Robert Parker 93
Intense citrus and tropical fruit aromas of warm grapefruit, lemon curd, pineapple and a fair amount of cedar. The rich, full bodied palate provides refreshing medium to high acidity balancing the concentrated toasted almond and lemon pie flavours. Long finish with a pleasant touch phenolic grip from the new oak. Just starting to be approachable. Drink now to 2020+. Tasted February 2009.
Anticipated maturity: 2009-2020
