Tasting Notes
Vinous 88
Good red-ruby. Cassis and licorice aromas are complicated by herbs and black pepper. Sweet and fresh, but with slightly jammy flavors of dark fruits and licorice showing a faint alcoholic warmth. Rather easygoing wine owing to its ripeness but has plenty of ripe tannins for support.

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Grand-Puy-Ducasse gives up notes of blackcurrant pastilles, prunes and fruitcake with wafts of espresso and oolong tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has very good fruit concentration, with a firm, grainy texture and seamless freshness, finishing long and earthy.

Tasted blind. Deep garnet and its colour more mature than many on the left bank in this vintage. Complex and spiced on the nose with still a surprising amount of black fruit. Very attractive. Lively, elegant, brisk and finely balanced, tannins just a little chalky on the finish. (JH)
