Vinous 88

Good red-ruby. Cassis and licorice aromas are complicated by herbs and black pepper. Sweet and fresh, but with slightly jammy flavors of dark fruits and licorice showing a faint alcoholic warmth. Rather easygoing wine owing to its ripeness but has plenty of ripe tannins for support. [Stephen Tanzer, 07/01/2013]

Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Grand-Puy-Ducasse gives up notes of blackcurrant pastilles, prunes and fruitcake with wafts of espresso and oolong tea. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has very good fruit concentration, with a firm, grainy texture and seamless freshness, finishing long and earthy. [21/02/2020]

Tasted blind. Deep garnet and its colour more mature than many on the left bank in this vintage. Complex and spiced on the nose with still a surprising amount of black fruit. Very attractive. Lively, elegant, brisk and finely balanced, tannins just a little chalky on the finish. (JH) [12/02/2020]
