Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 94
Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Les Petits Monts has a fragrant bouquet, much more floral in style than the Aux Reignots as wilted rose petals suffuse the crushed strawberry and raspberry fruit. There is fine detail here. The palate is medium-bodied with silky-smooth tannins, quite a bit of creamy oak, but it is totally embroidered with the red berry fruit. There is a great deal of panache about this Les Petits Montsa stylish!
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2040
Vinous 92-94
The 2011 Vosne-Romanee Les Petits Monts stands out for its tannic spine and overall sense of structure. A powerful, intense Vosne, the Petits Monts hits the palate with layers of black stone fruits, sweet spices and wild flowers. A long, powerful finish rounds things out in style.
Anticipated maturity: 2021-2031
