Tasting Notes
Robert Parker 86-88
The 2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains has a straightforward clean and pure bouquet that is just lacking the personality and charm of the other premier crus. The palate has plenty of fruite on the entry. At present it is a succulent and fleshy Nuits-Saint-Georges, however it does not offer the complexity on the finish you would expect for a premier cru.
Vinous 89-92
Good dark red. Medicinal black cherry liqueur and menthol on the nose Sweet and supple but vinous too, with good energy to the flavors of black cherry, licorice, menthol and violet. Not a particularly chocolatey style of Vaucrains; in fact, this is nicely penetrating and brisk.
