Tasting Notes
Vinous 92+
Healthy deep red. Very pure aromas of crushed dark berries, minerals and bitter chocolate. Juicy, tight and penetrating, conveying terrific energy and cut to its flavors of dark berries, licorice and herbs. Quite backward today, even austere, but built to age. Jean-Nicolas Meo does not normally vinify with stems but he made this wine with 10% whole clusters.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2031
Robert Parker 88-90
The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru les Boudots had finished its malolactic in July and includes 20% whole bunch this year. It has a stony, blackberry leaf and bilberry-scented bouquet that is focused and linear. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins on the entry, a gentle grip with a strict, very linear, almost foursquare finish deriving from the whole-bunch addition.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030
