Robert Parker 93-95
The 2014 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots had to brush away a bit of reduction when I tasted at the domaine, allowing the blackberry, raspberry and iodine aromas to emerge. As with all of the domaine’s 2014s, it is very well defined. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with a fine line of acidity, and tensile with a palpable sense of symmetry towards the finish that lingers long in the mouth. Just very Reignots.

Bright ruby-red. Captivating perfume of black raspberry, dark chocolate, smoked meat and soil. Sappy, savory and palate-saturating, conveying a powerful impression of terroir. This wine began with more saline soil tones than primary fruit but intense dark berry flavors emerged with air without any loss of energy. This very tight-grained wine finishes with noble tannins and outstanding length. A great vin de terroir with a classic 2014 balance.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2036
Widely distributed. Broad and appealing. Intense and particularly savoury and ‘mineral’. Lots of ripe opulent fruit. Maybe a hint of spicy oak but the fruit will eat it very shortly. Meaty in the extreme. So long.
