Tasting Notes
Vinous 96
Pronounced beeswax, dried camomile, straw, dried honeysuckle and lemon peel aromas introduce the complex 2017 Ermitage Blanc De L’Oree. On the palate, it reveals a medium to full-bodied frame that feels effortless and invigorating, carried by a fine thread of acidity. Layers of dried linden blossom and hay emerge, adding depth and nuance as the wine opens. Crisp and impeccably balanced, the 2017 unfolds with focus and precision, drawing out a long, refined finish that underscores its compelling charm.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2034
Robert Parker 96
"There are a substantial 909 cases of the 2017 Ermitage de l’Oree. Sourced from Les Murets’ clay soils, it combines hints of struck flint with honey, pear and baking spices on the nose. Full-bodied, with a layered sense of richness and ample concentration, it’s a big but balanced wine. While it lacks the zest and freshness of the 2016, it should still drink well for close to two decades."
Anticipated maturity: 2018-2035
