Tasting Notes

35% whole bunch, 15% new oak. Barrel sample. Super-fragrant and sweet red cherry and just a touch peppery. Open, even though it’s a cold sample, taken from a 2006 barrel. Still the emphasis on bright red fruit. More tension than in the Bourgogne and the tannins finer boned and more structuring. So fresh, crunchy. I hope it stays like this after bottling. But deep too and smooth. Tannins really smooth and dense. Lovely balance and length. (JH)
