Tasting Notes
Vinous 95
The 2018 MR de Compostella suffered a 35% loss in volume due to lack of juice in the berries. It has a perfumed, floral, slightly high-toned nose in the vein of the 2017, with scents of cassis, pressed violet and blueberry – quite primal, but this displays wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and graphite-tinged black fruit. It’s more off-dry in style, with a Bordeaux-like (Saint-Julien?) finish. Superb.
