Tasting Notes
Vinous 91
The 2020 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru was the final red vineyard to be picked, remarkably on 24 August and it contains 35% whole bunch. This is also the first vintage to see some fermentation intégrale, around 10% of the cuvée. It has a high-toned bouquet with blueberry and cassis fruit. Maybe here I would have liked a little more whole bunch to impart more freshness? The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, firm grip, quite a “solid” Clos Vougeot that just needs a little more finesse on the finish. Quite spicy on the aftertaste. Just a little heady for my liking this year.
