Tasting Notes

Tasted blind. Bloody, Merlot notes. Sumptuously sweet and round. A bit alcoholic. Unusual for the vintage. Very chewy, long finish. Doesn t taste like a top-drawer wine but obviously they have done the best they could with the vintage. (JR)

The 2021 Belair-Monange has turned out to be a relatively lightweight wine for this property. The floral bouquet is quite promising, but in the end, the 2021 lacks mid-palate depth, while the finish is both slender and short. I expected more.
Anticipated maturity: 2026-2041
