Tasted blind. Looks a little pale. Sweet and voluptuous. Roc de Cambes? Some may deride it as sickly but at least it s not bitter! (JR)
Anticipated maturity: 2030-2040
Vinous 93
The 2022 Roc de Cambes remains perfumed and sensual on the nose with black cherries, peony and iris flower alongside a hint of cassis that blossoms in the glass. This has wonderful delineation. The medium-bodied palate has grainy tannins and comes across slightly more toasty than the Domaine des Cambes, leading to a tensile finish of black pepper, sage and graphite. This is the most linear and Left-Bank-fashioned cuvee from the Mitjavile family this year, and it has bags of potential.
Anticipated maturity: 2030-2055
