Tasting Notes
Vinous 96-98
The 2023 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is much more rich and extravagant on the nose than the Clos Saint-Denis. Red plums, redcurrant and light rose petal scents are joined by potpourri with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with plush tannins and a fine bead of acidity. This is a lavish and sensual Clos de la Roche with an almost crystalline finish. Outstanding.
Anticipated maturity: 2028-2052

Cask sample. Mid ruby. Quite modest nose, less open and out to please than the Echezeaux. Red and darker fruits, red cherry, raspberry and cassis with some smoky depth. Medium-bodied, with the depth of Morey but in no way bruising. Long length. Good. (MH)
Anticipated maturity: 2030-2040
